Hotel writes own history with great storytelling!
Pantera Press
Pantera Press author B. Michael Radburn is thrilled to be the inaugural author to launch the MGallery Collection of Hotels’ Writer in Residence Program – with his stay at Harbour Rocks Hotel commencing today and concluding with a dinner on Thursday 9 October 2014. Radburn will be accessible to in-house guests and hotel visitors over the next couple of days – in the lobby checking his emails, enjoying a nightcap after a hard day of plot development in Scarlett Restaurant or Eric’s Bar or lurking out back discovering the hotel’s secrets.
“Short stories are interesting – you concentrate a lot of effort into very few words – but these few words can be very powerful,” said Radburn.
Radburn is no stranger to the process of authoring short stories, having published over 80 before widening his talents to longer format novels. “I still love the challenge of a short story – trying to get all the details, emotions and suspense into 1200 words –and I have just 10 days to reflect the wonderful Harbour Rocks Hotel that will be my residence for today and tomorrow,” said Radburn.
“Harbour Rocks Hotel offers a great foundation and structure for a story with its charming heritage and colourful history. I hope to use my time at the hotel to capture the essence of the building,” said Radburn.
Book lovers are invited to attend a special literary dinner at the Harbour Rocks Hotel on Thursday, 9 October where B. Michael Radburn will share his short story and give an insight into how he crafted it, while guests indulge in a gourmet four course matched dinner. Dinner guests can also take the opportunity to join B. Michael Radburn in Eric’s Bar to cap off a night of great storytelling.
The process for editing and publishing a full novel takes a little longer than a week – Michael’s third book with Pantera Press, THE FALLS, has a release date in exactly 356 days time – hitting shelves and e-retailers in October 2015!
“Radburn’s third thrilling tale employs his trademark supernatural touch to offer readers a riveting ride, fitting his Ian Rankin meets Stephen King reputation,” said Alison Green, CEO and Founder of Pantera Press.
“We love that others are just as excited about the talents of the Pantera Press authors as we are, and of course we wholeheartedly support Michael’s “writer-in-residence” status with MGallery’s Harbour Rocks Hotel in Sydney.”
