IT’S HERE – ABIA 2015 AWARDS DINNER

Howdy!!

The annual Australian Book Industry Awards dinner was held on Thursday night in Pyrmont, Sydney. It was an awesome night – an obvious eventuality when you fill a room with authors and publishers, imprompteu song and dance, shiny awards and wine.  Congratulations to  Sulari Gentill who was shortlisted for the Small Publisher’s Adult Book of the Year Award with her enthralling historic fiction A Murder Unmentioned. On top of this, we were over the moon being shortlisted for the Industry award for digital innovation – woohoo!!!

I caught Alison Green, CEO of Pantera Press for second and she pointed out ‘As a relatively new player to the publishing game, with our first books out in 2010, we are overwhelmed and honoured to be shortlisted for not only the ABIA 2015 innovation award, but to also have Sulari Gentill’s A MURDER UNMENTIONED shortlisted as the Small Publisher Adult Book of the Year.  It’s been an incredible journey thus far, and in fact a very big year for us with the launch of the Pantera Press Foundation, our new partnership with Bloomsbury Australia, the growth of our team and of course the move to our new office space (with a ping pong table as our board room table). I’d like to thank our wonderful team at Pantera Press, our fabulous stable of authors, the booksellers who have supported us over the years and those in the industry who have encouraged us. Although we are a ‘small publisher’ we have big ambitions! So please stay tuned for many more exciting things to come’
