Poached Eggs with Whatever-You-Fancy

 

Poached Eggs

 

Ingredients 

2 x Eggs

Water

Seasoning

All your favourite trimmings 

 

Method

– Put some water in a mug – 1/3 to 1/2 full should do the trick

– Crack egg gently into the mug, making sure it’s covered by the water

– Place in microwave for 2 minutes

– But not REALLY 2 minutes – you’ll need to stand by and listen, and take it out as soon as you hear a popping noise (this should take between 1 and 2 minutes)

– Gently remove egg from water with a makeshift slotted spoon, otherwise known as a fork

– Add lots of salt and pepper and tabasco

– Don’t forget to take pictures and brag that you made cafe-calibre poached eggs in a microwave

We served our eggs today with avocado, baby spinach, tomato and toast – but we wish we’d had some smoked salmon, too.
