Pantera Press Acquires Two-Book Fantasy Series by Bronwyn Eley

Pantera Press has acquired World rights for The Rule by Bronwyn Eley which will release in February 2025 with a second book to follow afterwards.

In The Rule, Zinha has only ever known the dark, quiet, underground world of the Baleful, an assassin guild that follows their god’s will, before she is sent on her first solo mission to the rival kindom of Maetora. Tasked with infiltrating a revered magical competition, seducing an enemy heir, and toppling the kingdom from within, Zinha is bound by one ancient rule: succeed or die. But faced with the overwhelming life of the city, the camaraderie of the contestants, and the developing feelings that she is trying to ignore, Zinha begins to question the tenets of her upbringing. Is she doing the work of the gods? Or do they have bigger plans for her? And when it comes time, who will she betray: the sworn family who raised her, or a prince who is offering her a life she never knew was possible?

Bronwyn Eley said, ‘On the surface, this is a story of magic and romance, power and politics. But underneath is a story about those brave enough to unpick their own inherited beliefs. The Rule is a lifetime in the making and I am so thrilled to be working with Pantera Press to bring Zinha’s story to the world of romantasy.’

Kate Cuthbert, Editorial Director at Pantera Press said, ‘With its immersive setting, fully realised characters, and dramatic conflict, The Rule is the kind of book that consumed me, keeping me up reading way past my bedtime. I can’t wait for other readers to discover this delicious novel so I will finally have people with whom I can dissect every aspect! Just a perfect example of how romantasy novels can be.’

Bronwyn Eley is an Australian author of fantasy novels. The Rule will be published with Pantera Press in 2025. Living and working in Edinburgh since 2022, Bronwyn is an avid traveller and photographer. She is a passionate martial artist, which she often tries to incorporate into her writing, and has recently taken to learning weapons.
