It’s thinking season.

Four homegrown Pantera Press authors are featured in this year’s program: B.Michael Radburn, Melanie Casey, J.M. Donellan and Wanda Wiltshire.

If you’ve been suffering through sleepless nights wondering how to understand the criminal mind in order to write great crime fiction, you’re in luck – B. Michael Radburn and Melanie Casey are set to join Matt McGuire and forensic criminologist Xanthé Mallett to talk about how to create realistic suspects on Friday May 22nd at Richard Wherrett Studio. And if you’re looking for a total change of pace after that, Radburn will also wow audiences on Saturday night at the Sydney Dance Lounge with his banjo skills!

At the same time on Friday afternoon over at Philharmonia Studio, Wanda Wiltshire joins an all-star panel with Kate Forsyth, Garth Nix and Danielle Wood to answer why we we’re still so fascinated by ‘once upon a time’ in an age of modern cynicism. It’s a must for lovers of fairytales!

On the final day of the festival, the ever quirky J.M. Donellan will talk to audiences about his latest novel KILLING ADONIS, which has been described as “A Wes Anderson Film waiting to happen’ – so it’s no surprise that he will be discussing the fine line between tragedy and farce! You can also catch J.M. Donellan’s slam poetry performance, presented by Word Travels, on Saturday evening at Riverside Theatres.

Pantera Press CEO Alison Green comments that ‘… this years program, unsurprisingly, has a phenomenal line-up. We are delighted how supportive Sydney Writers’ Festival are of home-grown Aussie authors, having invited four of our talented authors-to-watch to feature in the festival,’

‘At Pantera Press our focus is on finding and nurturing the next generation of talented Aussie writers, and so we’re thrilled that audiences can engage with our fabulous storytellers down at the beautiful Walsh Bay venue for the Sydney a Writers’ Festival in May’.

Event details for each of our fabulous authors are listed below. Book your tickets before they sell out!

With love until next time –
