Reports to: Publicity Director
Location: Sydney or Remote from Melbourne
Salary package (based on experience of candidate): $77,000 – $87,000 p.a. inclusive of superannuation

Leading independent publisher, Pantera Press, seeks a PR professional with several years of experience and a proven track record in communications (preferably within the book publishing industry or an arts related role). This is a hybrid publicity marketing role and would be perfect for a senior publicist or experienced publicist looking to work on super-lead titles, while also developing a marketing skillset. The successful candidate would ideally have some marketing experience, but most important is a keen interest in understanding this space and a desire to develop those skills.

ROLE DESCRIPTION
Senior Publicist Responsibilities (80% of Role)
- Independently develop and implement publicity campaigns for monthly new release titles across genres, working closely with marketing, publishing and sales departments, reporting to Publicity Director. For a candidate with the relevant experience, there are opportunities to work on super-lead titles.
- Ongoing publicity support for continuing and backlist authors and titles
- Create unique, tailored pitches for specific media as well as general press releases
- Work proactively and autonomously to identify trends and secure media and awareness opportunities for the brand(s) and authors
- Maintain strong relationships with media, booksellers and festival programmers
- Plan, book and organise author tours and events with booksellers and festival programmers, to budget
- Availability to accompany authors on tours, to events and media appearances
- Coordinate advance reading copies and new release publicity mailouts
- Support Publicity Director in achieving increased brand awareness for both Pantera Press and the Pantera Press Foundation
- Play an active role in acquisitions meetings
Marketing Responsibilities (20% of Role)
- Management of social media channels, under the direction of Head of Marketing:
- Generate content ideas for social channels and website/EDMs (and brief those ideas to designer or junior marketing assistant to create and deploy)
- Assist with the creation of social media content
- Build engagement across communication channels
- Responsibility for a handful of small and straight forward marketing campaigns
